Named in honor of Angus D. Senn, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and CEO of Senn Trucking Company. He served as a Board Member and Chairman of numerous civic organizations and businesses in Newberry County and surrounding areas. He was an avid supporter of Newberry College both academically and athletics. He was a member of the American Legion, the Shriners, the Lions Club and a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he received the Christian Lifetime Service Award and served on numerous committees.
